Biography

Vijaykrishnan Narayanan received the B.E. degree from the University of Madras, Madras, India, in 1993, and the Ph.D. degree from the University of South Florida, Tampa, FL, USA, in 1998.

He is currently a Professor of computer science and engineering and electrical engineering at The Pennsylvania State University, State College, PA, USA. His current research interests include embedded systems, computer architecture, design using emerging design technologies, and power-aware computing. He has deep interests in cross-disciplinary advances and had led and participated in such projects.

Dr. Narayanan served as the Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the IEEE Transactions on Computer-Aided Design of Integrated Circuits and Systems and as the Editor-in-Chief of the ACM Journal of Emerging Technologies in Computing Systems. He has won several awards, including the 2012 ASPDAC Ten-Year Retrospective Most Influential Paper, 2012 Penn State Alumni Society Premier Research Award, and 2010 Outstanding Alumnus Award from Sri Venkateswara College of Engineering, Tamil Nadu, India. He is a fellow of IEEE. He has worked with several outstanding students who are currently in industry and academia throughout the world.
