The Ernest S. Kuh Early Career Award recognizes an individual who has made innovative and substantial technical contributions to the area of Electronic Design Automation in the early stages of her or his career. Full members of the IEEE at any level (regular, senior, or fellow grades), whose highest educational degree has been awarded no more than eight years prior to the date of the award, shall be considered based on contributions to the field of EDA. Contributions will be measured based on technical merit, and creativity in performing research, and will be assessed based on the published record of the individual and the references accompanying the nomination. The award is intended to be equally available to contributors from academic and industrial institutions. Some of the specific criteria used will be the current and potential impact of the individual's contributions, as well as contributions to the profession at large.
The nomination can be made by anyone who is familiar with the individual’s work.
In case of multiple nominations of the same individual, only the first submitted will be considered; withdrawal of a nomination can be requested either by the corresponding nominator or by the nominee, provided that this request is forwarded to the chair of the awards committee before the expiration of the nomination’s submission deadline.
