OPEN CALL FOR NOMINATIONS:


The IEEE Council on Electronic Design Automation (CEDA) Nominations & Appointments Committee requests nominations for qualified individuals to fill the CEDA officer positions listed below for the 2020-2021 term.

Deadline for nominations is 30 July 2019.

Nominations are being called for the following:

  • The President
  • The President-elect
  • The Secretary
  • The Vice-President for Finances
  • The Vice-President for Activities
  • The Vice-President for Conferences
  • The Vice-President for Publications
  • The Vice-President for Publicity
  • The Vice-President for Strategy
  • The Vice-President for Awards
  • The Vice-President for Initiatives
  • The Vice-President for Standards

Self-nominations are allowed. Nominations should be submitted using the online form here.


The following excerpt is taken from the CEDA Bylaws:

Section V.1. Officer Nominations

The Nominations & Appointments Committee, a standing committee of the Council, shall provide nominations for Officers of the Council.

Section V.2. Nominations & Appointments Committee Report

The Chairperson of the Nominations and Appointments Committee shall submit the Committee Report to all voting members of the Board of Governors at the beginning of each Annual Meeting, or at the time requested by the Council President. The report shall contain nominations and appointment recommendations for all open positions and, biennially, for the election of officers. The voting members of the Board of Governors may make additional recommendations and nominations from the floor at the same meeting.


The elections proper will take place during the Council’s Board of Governors' (BoG) meeting in November 2019, in Westminster, Colorado.

The Nominations & Appointments Committee online application requests the following information regarding each candidate for consideration:

1. Candidate's name and contact information (as it should appear on all election materials), Business Title/Position, Business Name, Business Address, Preferred Phone, and Email address.

2. Candidate's 2-page CV listing education, employment experience, honors/awards, leadership experience (especially professional societies), and a brief list of publications, patents, or other intellectual products (as appropriate).

3. A brief statement, not to exceed 250 words, on the candidate’s prior achievements for the benefit of IEEE and IEEE CEDA. Explain the candidate’s strengths and how those will help in the candidate’s IEEE CEDA leadership position.

4. A statement of candidacy (not to exceed 250 words) explaining the candidate’s plans for using their office to strengthen IEEE CEDA.
