About CEDA

About the IEEE Council on Electronic Design Automation

The Council on Electronic Design Automation (CEDA) bridges gaps between academia, industry, and government. Our mission is to support excellence in the leadership and stewardship of transformational technologies and organizations.

Field of Interest

CEDA Field of Interest spans the theory, implementation, and use of EDA/CAD tools to design integrated electronic circuits and systems. This includes tools that automate all levels of the design, analysis, and verification of hardware and embedded software up to and including complete working systems.

Mission and Actions

Our mission is pursued through the following actions carried out by the Council:

  • Conferences, which promote scientific excellence by sponsoring leading conferences where the community can present and discuss innovative ideas.
  • Publications, which foster the dissemination of knowledge and provide foundations for professionals, practitioners, and academics.
  • Education, which facilitates learning by providing expertise throughout an engineer’s career, from novices to experienced leaders.
  • Networking, which creates opportunities for peer-to-peer learning within our communities, enabling transformational leaders to learn from one another.

Member Technology Organizations

To assure grounding in the major technology activities of the electronic design automation field, the Council has Member Technology Organizations from specific conferences, publications, and organizations. These Organizations bring information on the activities and directions of the EDA/CAD field and shall be those formally admitted to the Council by the Board of Governors in accordance with the Council Constitution.

The Member Technology Organizations are:

  • Design Automation Conference (Founding Member)
  • Design Automation and Test in Europe Conference (Joined Nov. 2011)
  • International Conference on Computer-Aided Design (Founding Member)
  • Embedded System Letters (Joined Nov. 2011)
  • Transactions on Computer-Aided Design of Integrated Circuits & Systems (Founding Member)
