Overview
IEEE CEDA Student Travel Grants can be awarded to students attending CEDA-sponsored conferences, symposia, or workshops and are intended to support active participants in the IEEE CEDA community. The grants are allocated based on demonstrated financial need; between 10–15 travel grants are awarded annually depending on the number of applicants and available program funding.
Important Notice:
Students seeking travel support for DAC, DATE, ICCAD, ESWEEK, MLCAD, or AsianHOST should apply directly through the conference travel grant program and should not submit requests through the general IEEE CEDA Student Travel Grant form.
The application requires the following conditions:
- IEEE CEDA Travel Grants include an IEEE Student Membership benefit: Join here prior to beginning this application. You will need your 8-digit IEEE number to complete the student travel grant form.
- Applicants must be active IEEE CEDA participants.
- Include letters of support stating a financial need from the Advisor and the Chair or Department Head of the institution where the student is affiliated. The same letter can be signed by both institution representatives.
- An application is not considered complete until the IEEE Student Membership request is complete, and a completed online application form (below) is submitted; incomplete applications will not be considered.
- Student Travel Grant applications need to be submitted at least 60 days prior to the event, otherwise, they will not be considered.
- Student Travel Grants will be awarded no later than 45 days before the event.
- The maximum request allowed for any Student Travel Grant is $1,500 for intercontinental travel and $1,000 for intra-continental travel.
- Students who have not received previous CEDA travel grants are given priority.
Note on Eligibility and Funding:
By applying for an IEEE CEDA Student Travel Grant, applicants confirm that they are not seeking or accepting travel funding from another organization, conference, or sponsor for the same event.
If duplicate or overlapping funding is later identified, CEDA reserves the right to withhold or revoke reimbursement.
Instructions:
- Please fill out the entire form in as much detail as possible. A confirmation e-mail will be sent to the address provided on the completed form. If you do not receive the confirmation, double-check that your submitted email address on the form is correct and that the email has not been blocked by your spam filter.
- For student applicants, upload the letter(s) assessing the financial need from your Advisor and Department Head or Chair. The letter(s) must indicate the financial contribution of the Laboratory, Group, Department, and School to the candidate's travel (if any.)
- If you are an author and presenter of a paper at the event you are attending, you will be asked to provide the title and a complete list of authors on this form.
