Dr. Shishpal Rawat is an accomplished senior executive, board member, and thought leader with 30 years of success across the semiconductor, education, and information and technology services industries.

He served as the President of the IEEE Council on Electronic Design Automation in 2016 and 2017. During that time, he oversaw strategy, new initiatives, conferences, publications, and chapter development for his council, one of the organizational units of the 400,000-member global IEEE organization, which fosters technological innovation and excellence for the benefit of humanity. He now serves as the Past-President on the council's executive committee.

Dr. Rawat was with Intel Corporation from 1988 – 2016. He spearheaded Intel’s ~$10M annual research funding program in Design and Test, leading to over a dozen technology transfers annually. He also led Intel Capital investments in Electronic Design Automation to accelerate technology development for the benefit of Intel. Dr. Rawat also oversaw the importation of open source software into Intel’s EDA environment. His broad areas of expertise include corporate governance, fundraising, go-to-market strategy, technology implementation, intellectual property and strategic planning.

Shishpal has a BTech from IIT Kanpur and a Masters & Ph. D. from Pennsylvania State University. As a seasoned board member, he served as Chairman of the Board of Accellera, was the Intel Board Observer (official position for Intel Capital members serving as the Intel representative on the startup’s board) for Apache, AWR, ArchPro, and Tela.
