Weichen Liu is an Associate Professor with the College of Computing and Data Science (CCDS) at Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore. He was honored as a Nanyang Assistant Professor (NAP) from 2018 to 2023. Dr. Liu received his Ph.D. degree from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, and his M.Eng. and B.Eng. degrees from the Harbin Institute of Technology. His research interests lie at the intersection of hardware and software design for emerging computing paradigms, including embedded and real-time systems, many-core architectures, electronic/photonic networks-on-chip (NoC), machine learning acceleration, and edge intelligence. Dr. Liu has authored and co-authored over 200 research papers in these areas and has received numerous accolades, including Best Paper Candidate Awards at premier venues such as DAC (2024), DATE (2023), GLSVLSI (2022), ASP-DAC (2020, 2019, 2016), CASES (2015), and CODES+ISSS (2009). His research has been supported and recognized by major industry partners, including Intel, AMD, Huawei, MediaTek, and HP Inc.

Dr. Liu serves as an Area Editor for IEEE Transactions on Computer-Aided Design of Integrated Circuits and Systems (TCAD) and a Subject Area Editor for the Elsevier Journal of Systems Architecture (JSA). He has held several editorial and organizational roles, including Associate Editor of IEEE Embedded Systems Letters (2024–2025), General Chair of IEEE ISORC 2020, Program Chair of ISORC 2019, and Track Chair for ACM/IEEE ISLPED (2021–2022) and IEEE MCSoC (2023). He has also served on the Technical Program Committees (TPC) of over 20 premier international conferences, including DAC, ICCAD, ASP-DAC, CODES+ISSS, RTSS, RTAS, ISLPED, and GLSVLSI.
