Call for Nominations for Editor-in-Chief of the IEEE Embedded Systems Letters
The IEEE Council on Design Automation (CEDA) invites nominations for the position of Editor-in-Chief (EiC) for the IEEE Embedded Systems Letters (ESL). Self-nominations are permitted.
IEEE Embedded Systems Letters seeks to provide a forum for quick dissemination of research results in the domain of embedded systems with a target turnaround time of no more than three months.
The journal is currently published quarterly consisting of new, short, and critically refereed technical papers.
The term of duty of the new EiC begins on 1 January 2024 and ends on 31 December 2025. As soon as a decision is made on the new EiC, a smooth transition from the current EiC to the new EiC will take place.
An EiC Selection Committee will evaluate all nominations and make recommendations to the CEDA Executive Committee for appointment based on the CEDA bylaws. After the EiC is chosen, the Selection Committee will identify the Deputy EiC, in agreement with the newly appointed EiC. The EiC will then constitute their own Editorial Board of Associate Editors.
Nominations will be collected via a nomination form, linked here, and should be received by 20 November 2023 to ensure full consideration.
On the nomination form, you will be asked to provide the following information:
- Name, postal address, email address, and telephone numbers of the nominee, and the publication (ESL) for which the candidate is nominated.
- Written confirmation that the candidate intends to accept a nomination for the EiC position and has the necessary resources to fulfill the position.
- Curriculum vitae of the nominee, including the track record with IEEE service and publications details, with particular reference to ESL.
- Position statement of the nominee indicating the view of the candidate on the future of IEEE ESL, the ESL-specific opportunities and challenges, and any plans that the candidate wants to pursue.
The nominee must be a member in good standing of the IEEE.
Desirable qualities of the candidates include:
- An established track record of technical accomplishments,
- leadership,
- integrity and ethical standards,
- demonstrable organizational and management skills, and
- an energetic eagerness to continue moving the journal forward toward visibly higher levels of accomplishment and contributions to the relevant technical community.
