Internet of Things Technical Committee (IoT-TC)
Set up in 2023 as an IEEE-wide initiative led by the Communications Society, the Internet of Things Technical Committee (IoT-TC) fosters the exchange of research, development, deployment, education, regulatory, and business aspects in the quickly evolving field of the Internet of Things (IoT).
The Council on EDA has been a main proponent and Core member of this initiative since it started and has recently reaffirmed its commitment to the IoT-TC goals by signing an amendment that enables the Technical Committee to establish means to become self-sufficient in the future, as part of the new IEEE TAB-initiated TC 2.0 process.
To achieve its goals, the IoT-TC organizes and supports the organization of larger conferences and smaller summits to provide platforms for the exchange of IoT-related information as well as the networking of researchers, developers, standards engineers, regulators educators, and other experts in the field of IoT. The IoT-TC also enables the dissemination of IoT-related information through its IoT Magazine, its electronic IoT newsletter, as well as its website. The IoT-TC's periodical, the IEEE Internet of Things Magazine (IoTM), publishes peer-reviewed articles on IoT Technologies and end-to-end IoT solutions and columns, which are edited.
In this 3-year period from 2023 to 2025, the IoT-TC intends to continue its conference and publications activities, as well as strengthen its contributions in standardization and regulatory aspects of IoT and to set up an educational program, eventually covering the breadth of the IoT.
